Strategic Planning

Led and undertook all project activities and writing of Alcohol and Drug Service Strategic Plan for Health Network. Undertook extensive consultation and facilitated service wide workshop with ~50 staff. Led focus groups and surveying of service clientele.

Undertook desktop research for health professional regulation authority to identify and map stakeholders in professional regulation, performance management and safety. Presented stakeholder network map and findings in final report to inform strategic planning and communications.

Project managed and undertook all project activities to develop and deliver Workforce Plan for Health District. Conducted environment scan, supported consultation and co-facilitated workshops. Summarised findings, strategic priorities and initiatives in final Workforce Plan.

Supported consultation with Health District Executive and clinical stakeholders to conduct current state assessment of telehealth services. Developed and documented options for telehealth supported models of care to present to Executive.

Clinical Service Planning

Project managed and oversaw team of five to deliver state-wide review of community palliative care services for government health department. Led literature review, stakeholder consultation, data analysis, summary of findings, final report and presentation of recommendations.

Performed medical record audits at aged care homes and summarised findings in site specific reports. Delivered ACFI (Aged Care Funding Instrument) training to nurse managers, nurses and support staff at multiple sites.

Conducted focus groups and interviews with stakeholders including clinicians and families of children with intellectual disability. Compiled findings in evaluation report for government health department.

Provided project support to coordinate, compile and summarise ABF practices from all NSW Local Health Districts and Networks to present to Ministry.

Implemented ACI Clinical Redesign methodology to review patient experience and improve length of stay at Sydney Hospital. Consulted with staff and patients and identified unwarranted clinical variation contributing to increased length of stay. Led process mapping workshops with staff to review patient journey and establish new clinical pathway for cellulitis patients.

Performed thematic analysis on more than 1700 public responses to inform the 2014 National Review of Mental Health Programmes and Services. Utilised NVivo software to perform advanced qualitative analysis and summarise findings in a series of short reports.
Service Improvement

Project managed and oversaw team to implement new patient survey software at Sydney Hospital. Developed and led change management and communications strategy including consultation and communications with clinicians and public. Conducted staff training and collaborated with IT managers and staff to lead successful implementation of system at hospital.

Managed and undertook project within audit program to review nursing documentation practices for Health Network. Undertook medical record audit, staff consultation and documentation process evaluation (process mapping session) to summarise gaps, challenges and recommendations for new documentation practices in final report.

Developed audit tools and performed medical record audits for Health Network to assess implementation of patient observation and standing orders policies. Performed data analysis and summarised findings in two audit reports.

Worked with aged care provider to conduct focus groups with relatives and carers of residents in a number of aged care homes. Presented key themes from focus groups and provided recommendations for ARV in development of revised relative experience survey.

Supported government health department in development of evaluation framework. Supported early data collection for analysis of evaluation outputs.

Project managed Utility Testing Pilot for National Authority to examine usefulness and relevance of reporting a high priority complications data set. Managed all pilot activities, including feedback sessions at 6 hospital sites.
Business Writing

Led project team to develop and deliver Commissioning Plan and Communication Plan for aged care provider. Planned and undertook Department wide consultations, completed process mapping and facilitated virtual planning workshop. Wrote final Commissioning Plan and Communication Plan.

Led development and writing of competitive tender to successfully secure new service agreement for Health Network worth ~1M.

Led engagement of consulting services and oversaw development of strategic business case for Health Network redevelopment project worth >100M. Managed Project Control Group, oversaw and undertook stakeholder consultation and contributed to development of project vision, concept and objectives.
